1) What is BrightMinds?
BrightMinds is a regular job fair taken online, allowing you to find out about potential employers, learn about job opportunities and even submit your résumé, all from the comfort of your own home. The one-stop portal is specifically tailored to guarantee a seamless match from abundant career opportunities.

Specifically targeted at your level, BrightMinds is organised with partner institutions to connect employers with the graduates they seek.

2) How does BrightMinds work?
BrightMinds is totally free for jobseekers to use. After registration, you'll be able to login to the website throughout the duration of the fair to search for jobs. If you find any that you're keen on, simply apply online. Your application will be submitted to the relevant employer along with your personal profile and résumé.

If the employer finds you are a suitable candidate, they will then contact you directly.

Your job applications are also recorded on your BrightMinds personal homepage. You will receive email notifications on all your applications at the end of the BrightMinds event.

3) How do I participate?
To take part in BrightMinds, you must be a graduate or final-year student of the partner institution.

Visit the registration page to sign up and create an account to access BrightMinds. After that, you'll need to create a personal profile by keying in your contact information as well as education and professional details under the "My Particulars" tab.

You can also upload your résumé to the site or create one if you haven't got a résumé already. To help you along, there's a comprehensive guide that walks you through each stage of the process.

You're all set! Job alerts will now be sent to you, informing you of jobs that meet your criteria as well as newly posted job ads.

4) How do I search and apply for jobs?
There are three ways to go about this.

1) Use the "Search Jobs" function found on the website's main page. Enter keywords (separate multiple keywords with commas) into the query box and refine your search criteria by providing details to the search engine. Then, just click on "Find It!" and the system will display a list of jobs that match your requirements.

2) Click on the "Search Jobs" link in your personalised home page and enter keywords such as job titles or functions. You can also choose to refine your search by checking the relevant check boxes. Once you're satisfied, click on "Submit" and a list of relevant job ads will be displayed.

3) Create a personalised job agent after logging in. Once this agent is set up, it will automatically seek the jobs that you want and notify you through email of suitable and matching jobs.

You will be able to access the job descriptions posted and submit your application if you're keen. Certain employers may require you to complete additional forms and will redirect you accordingly.

5) How do I search and apply for courses?
There are two ways to go about this.

1) Use the "Search Courses" function found on the website's main page. Enter keywords (separate multiple keywords with commas) into the query box and refine your search criteria by providing details to the search engine. Then, just click on "Find It!" and the system will display a list of courses that match your requirements.

2) Click on the "Search All Courses" link in your personalised home page and enter keywords such as course title. You can also choose to refine your search by checking the relevant check boxes. Once you're satisfied, click on "Submit" and a list of relevant courses will be displayed.

6) What is My Job Agent?
My Job Agent is your personalised job match service which allows you to input the criteria that you're looking for in a job. After doing so, My Job Agent is set up for use and will automatically search for jobs that meet your criteria.

As and when they are made, positive matches will be added to your BrightMinds homepage for you to review. You will also receive weekly email updates. My Job Agent's settings and email update frequency can be changed by accessing the "Edit Profile" section.

7) How secure is my information?
The information in your personal profile and résumé hosted by the BrightMinds website will be kept in the strictest confidence. These are only released to employers to whom you've sent job applications.

Other parties will only be able to view your information if you have given permission for your data to be mined.

8) What if I've forgotten my login details?
The login system has a password retrieval feature that will forward your password to the email account registered with your profile.

If you can't remember which email account is registered, send an email to BrightMinds@jobsfactory.com. To verify that you're the rightful owner of the BrightMinds account, do include your full name, NRIC and contact number.

9) What are discriminatory job advertisements?
JobsFactory supports and adheres to the Tripartite Guidelines to Non-Discriminatory Job Advertisements as laid out by the Ministry of Manpower and other labour market stakeholders.

Discriminatory job advertisements are those that unreasonably differentiate job applicants on the basis of age, race, language, gender, marital status and/or religion.

If you spot a discriminatory job advertisement, do let us know by emailing BrightMinds@jobsfactory.com and we will investigate and take action as necessary.
